How to burn a 4 GB ISO to a DVD

A single-layer DVD holds 4.7 GB, so most 4 GB ISOs just fit. If yours is slightly over, use a dual-layer DVD. cdBurner shows the fit before you burn.

Step by step

  1. Connect the burn agent

Open onlinecdburner.com and make sure the burn agent is connected (install it once if needed).

  2. Insert a blank disc big enough for the image

Match the disc to the image size — a CD for small images, a DVD for up to 4.7 GB, a Blu-ray for more.

  3. Choose “ISO image”

    Select your ~4 GB .iso.

  4. Burn the image

cdBurner writes it sector-for-sector so the disc is bootable/readable exactly as intended. Keep Finalize on.

Why cdBurner is different

Every other burner is a program you install. cdBurner isn't: it runs in your browser with one tiny background helper, and it's free.
